Brow Lamination Sarasota

EYEBROW LAMINATION & TINTING

This treatment is a great alternative for someone who does not want to commit to semi-permanent make up but desires a fuller brow look.

An eyebrow lamination is similar to a perm for your brows but without the curl. It‘s a chemical straightening treatment in which the eyebrow hair is re-shaped to make the brows lie flat and straight and can easily be directed into the desired shape. This is a low maintenance treatment that makes re-positioning your brows into a full and lifted shape easier and gives the illusion of fuller brows that last between 6-8 weeks.

Brow shaping according to the Golden Ratio, along with tinting and waxing/tweezing is included for optimal results.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT
BROW LAMINATION

WHAT IS A BROW LAMINATION?

With so many innovative treatments offering to trim, tidy, and transform our eyebrows, it’s sometimes difficult to choose the best one for you. One increasingly popular treatment is called brow lamination. This is a great service if you are looking for a ‘fluffy’ brow without the need for brow gel, or if your natural brow hairs are curly, unruly, or point downwards. Think of it as semi-permanent “soap brows”. Similar to a lash lift, we use chemicals to create a smoothing effect to semi-permanently set the eyebrow hairs in a vertical direction, making them appear brushed up.

Because of this process, people also refer to the treatment as a brow perm. Although in this instance, rather than adding a curl or a wave, it’s all about straightening the hairs. Basically, if your hair strands are forever growing in an unruly direction, you’ve got gaps, or were victim to the overplucking era then that’s exactly where brow lamination comes in to help solve that. Results last up to 8 weeks.

BENEFITS OF A BROW LAMINATION

Fixes Brow Problems

For people who have problems like thinning of brow hair with age, gaps formed within eyebrows due to excessive plucking or waxing and lack or shape and unevenness; all of these can be taken care of by the brow lamination procedure.

Thicker & Fuller Brows

Brow lamination brings about thicker and fuller brows by giving the illusion of longer and more defined brows.

    Unruly Brow Hair Fix

If your brows have a mind of their own, a brow lamination is the fix! The perming solution softens the hair from the follicle and allows for a softer and easy to brush brow.

Creates a More Desirable Brow Shape

If you have flat or downward growing hairs, a brow lamination can change the direction of growth to create a more uniform look with a higher arch and a more desirable brow shape.

    Minimal After Care

Another great benefit of the brow lamination treatment is that it requires minimal aftercare. Read my full brow lamination aftercare advice below.

    ALL Brow Lamination Products are:

    Professional, high grade solutions

    Formaldehyde-free

Advanced formulation containing nourishing and conditioning ingredients

Single-use sachets – hygienic – no wastage – fast processing

WHAT DOES THE PROCESS LOOK LIKE?

    1.

The entire process takes around 60 minutes, depending on your brows’ texture. With thicker, coarser hair, the solution needs to sit on your brows a little bit longer. First, we begin with a brow consultation to determine your brow goals. After getting you comfortable, I will thoroughly clean your brow area to remove any residual brow make up, sweat, oils, etc. Your brow hair is then repositioned and temporarily bonded in an upright and sideways position.

    2.

Next, the perming solution is applied and brushed through your brow hairs, followed by the neutralizing/setting solution. Finally, your lashes are tinted and shaped.

    3.

Last but certainly not least, a deep conditioning, nourishing lotion is added to restore moisture back into the brow hairs.

    TIPS & TRICKS
    FOR MAKING YOUR BROW LAMINATION
    LAST LONGER

    Tip # 1

~ Stick to the Provided After Care Instructions ~

    Don’t Touch Your Brows

Touching your brows with your fingers can deposit oils from our skin onto the brows. Pressing a towel or pillow against them or basically any kind of contact can physically alter the shape in the first 24 hours following the treatment. Try to avoid touching your brows (use provided spoolie if needed).

Keep them Completely Dry for 24 Hours

While this is the most basic rule of the brow lamination after care, sometimes people don’t take it seriously, thinking, what possible damage could just plain old water? Well, it can do a lot of damage actually! The brow lamination needs some time to fully set, so no washing the area, no swimming, no jacuzzis, ideally for 24 hours. If you’re taking a shower, be careful not to get any droplets on your brows. Clean your face with damp cotton pads, avoiding the brows.

Sweating is also getting your brows wet, so try to avoid that as much as possible. No exercise or other strenuous activities (if you can avoid them). Exposing yourself to heat and sunlight can make you sweat even if you’re not doing anything so try to avoid that if you have any control over it.

Avoid steam for 24 hours. Yes, exposure to steam also counts as getting your brows wet. In fact, it’s worse! Steam is water in the form of gas … no hot showers and it’s best to avoid cooking. Okay, not all cooking activities produce steam, but if they produce any kind of heat that will cause you to sweat, skip it and just get takeout. But nothing too spicy! Again – sweat alert.

    Avoid Sleeping on Your Brows!

It is very important to sleep on your back (not your side of stomach) for the first 24 hours to allow the brow perm to fully set.

    Tip # 2

~ Adjust Your Skincare and Makeup Routine ~

Use Gentle Skin and Beauty Products

In the days and weeks following your brow lamination treatment, I recommend using only gentle, oil-free facial products. Avoid anything that might irritate your skin, eyes, etc. The less harsh chemicals that are used on your skin {those that could potentially interact with the brow perm} the better!

Apply a Serum or Brow Conditioner

After 48-72 hours after your brow lamination treatment, apply an oil-free lash serum or conditioner to your lashes. A lash conditioner will help keep your brows strong, soft, and healthy – making the brow perm last even longer. We must care for our brows he same way we’d care for our hair!

    Tip # 3

    ~ Additional Tips ~

    Brush Your Brows

When you wake in the morning, brush your brows upward and sideways with a makeup free lash brush to help with their formation. This is typically done best when the brows are wet (after washing your face or after a shower).

Wait 8 Weeks Between Brow Appointments

Last but not least! Wait at least 8 weeks in between brow lamination appointments to avoid over processing your brow hairs. The perm will begin to naturally drop after about 2 months and your brows will be back to their natural look. The brows should drop evenly and will not look out of place. You can repeat the treatment after a minimum of two months if you feel you need to, or you can wait until they are back to their natural state.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Avoid using exfoliants, retinoids, or AHAs on your face for one to two weeks before your brow lamination.

Let your brow hair grow out so your optimal shape can be obtained.

Arrive to your appointment with make-up free brows.

Brow lamination results last about 6 to 8 weeks depending on your natural hair growth cycle. It is important to note that your last eyebrow lamination treatment MUST be at least 6 weeks out before receiving another brow lamination treatment.

Are you a person? Do you have eyebrow hairs? Then you can get them laminated! With that being said, the people who will benefit the most from getting their brows laminated are people who(1)  rely on brow gel to live (i.e. unruly brows) or of your brows are on the thinner side as it helps them look fuller.

The appointment will take approximately 60 minutes. Enjoy your nap 🙂

No, it’s not. As the ‘straightened’ hairs begin to naturally shed, new hairs will be growing in just like they did prior to your brow lamination.

For a minimum of 24 hours you MUST avoid:

    • Brow makeup
    • Creams in the brow area
    • Swimming, steam rooms/saunas
    • Strenuous exercise that causes sweating
    • Washing your face in a direct stream of water
    • Rubbing to avoid disforming the hairs
    • Avoid sleeping on your brows

Yes, but please wait 48 to 72 hours after the treatment and only use oil-free products.

Brow laminations are generally safe for most people. I am a certified, licensed, and insured  professional and you are in safe and gentle hands.

Allergic reactions are extremely rare. If an allergic reaction happens it can show immediately or after a few days following the tint. If you are concerned or a highly allergic individual a patch test may be arranged upon request.

No. However it is strongly recommended to use a brow serum that contains keratin and biotin to condition your brow hairs.

The treatment effects will last as long as your natural hair growth-cycle. As your hairs naturally shed, they will grow back just as they were before the procedure.

No, not at all! As a matter of fact, most of my clients take a nap while I do their treatment. You will be lying down flat on your back the entire duration of the treatment (about 1 hour) but there is no pain involved at all. I provide a very comfortable bed, blanket, and bolster for lower back pain relief.

    • Pregnant or nursing individuals are NOT recommended to undergo this treatment. Reasons include:
    1. You want to AVOID putting any chemicals on or in your body that may be absorbed into the bloodstream
    2. The perm solution alters the ph levels (although only on the hairs but I’d rather be on the safe side)
    3. Pregnancy hormones cause higher levels of sensitivity  and there is a greater chance of getting an adverse reaction from the solutions
    4. Due to altered hormone levels, there is  greater chance of getting inconsistent results

    • This treatment can NOT be done on broken skin or open wounds on/around the area (permanent make up eyebrows should be healed at least 12 weeks before getting a brow lamination treatment)

    • It is NOT recommended for those under 18 years of age

    • Unless you are allergic to any of the ingredients in hair perm or hair dye (I recommend to do a patch test prior if you are concerned about an allergic reaction), these treatments work for pretty much anyone.

The complimentary brow tint that is included with your brow lamination treatment stays on the brows between 2-3 weeks. Clients may return between brow lamination treatments if desired for an additional cost once tint has washed off.
